Week 6 Preview

Week 5 brought us a lot of upsets. It also gave us three top ten matchups, two of which were extremely competitive. Washington showed us they are the real deal and so did Clemson. Tennessee somehow beat Georgia with a Hail Mary (ruining the Hog’s chances to host College Gameday). LSU put up record setting numbers in Ed Ogeron’s first game. There are some exciting games on the slate this weekend and we already had a great one on Wednesday night with Arkansas State coming back to beat

Notable Games
9Tennessee at 8Texas A&M Both teams have had some issues with injuries. Jalen Hurd did not make the trip so he will obviously not be playing for the Vols. I think Texas A&M is going to be too much for a Tennessee team that is coming off a high of an amazing win. It will be interesting to see if Myles Garrett is at 100% or if that really even matters. Trevor Knight and the receivers are just too good. I am picking Texas A&M.

23Florida State at 10Miami I‘m still not sold on Miami. Florida State is going to be hungry for a win after their last second loss to North Carolina last week. As much as I don’t like the Noles, I expect Jimbo to get this team ready for this big rivalry game. Fisher has not lost to Miami as the head coach of Florida State. This is a huge game for both teams. Florida State will need to find some sort of defense to win this one. I am picking Florida State.

25Virginia Tech at 17North Carolina North Carolina needs to make sure they get over their huge win last week over Florida State. Virginia Tech has been sneaky this season and could upset the Heels. Mitch Trubisky has looked really good and I think he will have another good game this week. We will learn if Virginia Tech is the real deal. I am picking North Carolina.

Texas vs 20Oklahoma Neither team has been consistent this season. Well, they have both consistently scored a lot of points and not played a lot of defense. This game always seems to be the best game Texas plays all season. Maybe that’s because OU has come in has huge favorites the last few seasons. I don’t think the Texas defense will be able to contain Baker Mayfield. Charlie Strong has taken over the defense so that will be something to look out for. I am picking Oklahoma.

21Colorado at USC The Pac12 has been interesting this season. Colorado surprised us all by beating Oregon and actually hanging with Michigan for a while. USC has not lived up to their high expectations. That being said, is Colorado over-hyped? I think this is a potential trap game for the Buffalos, but if they keep playing the way they have been, they should be fine. I am picking Colorado.

Auburn at Mississippi State This is an interesting matchup. Neither team has been an offensive powerhouse this season. Auburn’s defense has been strong. I expect this to be a pretty low scoring game. I also expect this to be a competitive game. I wonder how many players will throw the ball for Auburn. Probably at least 2. This game got moved to a 12ET ESPN start, so expect a great atmosphere with the cowbells ringing. I am picking Auburn.

1Alabama at 16Arkansas This is going to be a tough one for my Hogs. Alabama is a really good football team. Arkansas has been struggling on the offensive line and in the secondary. To win this game, Arkansas is going to need to throw the ball and throw it accurately. The run game will also need to get going much sooner. The Razorbacks won’t be able to run it up the middle every time like they have been trying to do. Turnovers will probably be the most telling stat of this game. I just hope this is a good game.
