Week 13 Preview

There wasn’t as much chaos in week 12 as in week 11, but we did see another top 5 team fall. Louisville lost to Houston. Michigan State very nearly upset Ohio State and Michigan had a close call with Indiana. Rivalry Week is here and there are some great matchups that should have an impact on the CFP rankings. I hope everyone has a safe and fun Thanksgiving!

How I Fared: 3-3 last week; 51-23 overall

13Auburn at 1Alabama Ah, the Iron Bowl. Don’t you just love the Iron Bowl? Alabama has looked great this season with true freshman QB Jalen Hurts leading the way. Auburn has had flashes of brilliance as well as some head scratchers. I think Bama will cap their undefeated regular season in this game. I think it will be close for at least the first half, but I expect the Tide to wear out the Tigers in the second half. I am picking Alabama.

3Michigan at 2Ohio State This is a huge game. But I think it will cause more questions than answers when it comes to the CFP. If Ohio State wins and Penn State beats Michigan State, Penn State will go to the Big 10 Champ game. I think this game will be exciting and very close. Both teams struggled last week. I expect both teams to be up for this game. I just think Ohio State will be too much. I am picking Ohio State.

5Washington at 23Washington State (Friday) This Apple Cup is important. The winner of this game will represent the Pac 12 North in the Pac 12 Champ game next Friday. I’m excited to see how this game plays out. I think Washington has the better defense and that’s the reason they will win this one. I do expect both teams to score a fair amount of points though. I’m sorry I’ll miss out on watching this game. I am picking Washington.

22Utah at 9Colorado Colorado has been very impressive this season. Last week the Buffs were able to hold an explosive Washington State team to just 24 points. Utah was upset by Oregon on a TD with just 2 seconds left. Oregon has not been good this season, so this was a really bad loss for the Utes. I think they are overranked and that Colorado will show us that. I don’t expect this game to be all that close. I am picking Colorado.

15Florida at 14Florida State I still don’t understand how Florida beat LSU. I saw both teams play live in back to back weeks. LSU should’ve run all over them. But they didn’t. I think Florida put all of their energy into that game and will be a little tired. Florida State didn’t have any trouble against Syracuse last week so they should be rested and ready for this rivalry game. I do think Florida will score more than the 2 points they did last year, though. I am picking Florida State.

TCU at Texas (Friday) The winner of this game will become bowl eligible. Texas and Charlie Strong have had a tough season. I don’t think the outcome of this game will save Strong’s job, but I do think his players will be playing with a little extra in this game. TCU struggled last week against Oklahoma State. They were unable to convert inside the OKST5 twice. Texas lost in OT to Kansas. Someone will have to win this one, and I think Texas will be the more motivated team. I am picking Texas.

Arkansas at Missouri (Friday) Last week wasn’t pretty for either of these teams, but Arkansas came out with a win. Missouri gave up 63 points to Tennessee but also scored 37. The Hogs put up a lot of offense, but for the second straight week, the defense was pretty much nonexistent. This game might be a shootout of sorts. There has been some trash talk coming out of Columbia, MS. In my opinion, you shouldn’t talk smack before the game. Wait until you have something to back it up. Look for me in Columbia! Go Hogs!
