2019 Week 14 Preview

We are now in the final regular season week of college football. The only big upset of last week was Arizona State beating Oregon. There are still seven spots open in the conference championships, so there is still a ton to be determined this weekend.

My Record: 5-1 last week, 54-24 overall (69%)

This week has been so busy. Happy Thanksgiving!

Notable Games
1Ohio State at 13Michigan
Ohio State has taken over the top spot in the CFP Rankings after beating Penn State. (Does that technically mean that Arkansas knocked off the number one team?) The Buckeyes might just be the most complete team in the country. Michigan has been improved since their poor start to the season. I really doubt Michigan’s ability to score enough points to beat Ohio State, especially with Chase Young and the rest of the OSU defense.
I am picking Ohio State

5Alabama at 15Auburn
The Iron Bowl is not as impactful to the CFP Rankings as either team would like. With Tua being out for the season, the Tide will need some help to make it into the top 4. Auburn’s defense has been great this season, but the offense has been consistent enough to win the close games. I expect Alabama to win, but this one might be a closer one than people expect.
I am picking Alabama

7Oklahoma at 21Oklahoma State
The Big 12 Championship Game is already locked up with Baylor taking on Oklahoma, so this game is solely for bragging rights for Oklahoma State. Oklahoma still has an outside shot of making the playoff if they can get some help from the teams above them. The Sooners have been struggling since losing to Kansas State. They have been able to get a few close wins, but they just do not look good enough on defense to win against a really good team. There is the potential for a ton of points in this game.
I am picking Oklahoma

12Wisconsin at 8Minnesota
The winner of this game will go on to face Ohio State in the Big 10 Championship game next weekend. Both of these teams are strong and have played well this season. Minnesota has had a historic season and I think they will continue that by beating Wisconsin. I think this will be a very hard-fought game that Minnesota will find a way to win. I expect the Golden Gophers to make it to the Rose Bowl this season.
I am picking Minnesota

19Cincinnati at 18Memphis (Friday)
This is a huge game for Memphis. Cincinnati has already locked up a spot in the AAC Championship game. Memphis needs to win this game to force a rematch with the Bearcats next week. Thanks to Navy upsetting SMU last weekend, a Cincy win would send the Midshipmen to the AAC Champ game. Because Memphis has more at stake in this game, I think they will win.
I am picking Memphis

24Virginia Tech at Virginia (Friday)
I have a lot at stake when it comes to this game. I picked Virginia to win their division and this game will determine who will face Clemson in the ACC Champ game. Both teams have been doing well in the last couple of weeks. Virginia Tech is coming off two shutout wins. I think this will be a good game, and a rivalry game with everything on the line is always a good thing.
I am picking Virginia

Missouri at Arkansas (Little Rock) (Friday)
This will be the last game of the season for both teams since we just found out that the NCAA will uphold their bowl ban. I doubt this game will be very good, but the Hogs actually have a chance to win this one.
