2019 Week 11 Preview

We had some good games las weekend. Georgia beat Florida in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party and Memphis handed SMU their first loss of the season in the most exciting game of the day. Georgia Southern also ended Appalachian State’s undefeated season on Halloween night. Earlier this week the first CFP rankings of the season came out and the committee decided that Ohio State is the best team in the country. At least two more undefeated teams will suffer a loss this weekend with LSU playing Alabama and Penn State taking on Minnesota. We are entering the final month of the season and every game gets more and more important. Week 11 here we come.

My Record: 3-3 last week, 41-19 overall (68.3%)

Notable Games
2LSU at 3Alabama
If I’m being honest, I’m a little annoyed that this game is not 1 vs 3. Though I do think Ohio State is very good, they have played much weaker competition than LSU. But enough of my annoyance. I am so excited for this game. I really don’t know who will win. There is no way that Tua will be 100% for this game, but Alabama is still Alabama. I am giving them the edge over the Tigers in this game because the game is in Tuscaloosa. Joe Burrow and the LSU offense have been so strong this season and I would not be surprised if they win this game. Everyone will be tuned in to this game on Saturday afternoon.
I am picking Alabama

4Penn State at 17Minnesota
This is the other unbeaten vs unbeaten matchup of the weekend. I find it interesting that the committee thinks so highly of Ohio State and Penn State but dropped Minnesota to 17 in the rankings. I know that OSU and PSU have played higher quality opponents, they are still an undefeated Big 10 team. Penn State should win this game, but they tend to play close games with decent teams. The Gophers have a back loaded schedule and still have to play Iowa and Wisconsin in their last three games. Penn State should pull away as the game goes on and remain undefeated and should set up another undefeated matchup when they play Ohio State in two weeks.
I am picking Penn State

18Iowa at 13Wisconsin
When anyone talks about “Big 10 Football” this is the game they are talking about. Don’t expect a lot of points in this game. This one will be won on defense and in the trenches. I think the Badgers are the better team and they have one of the best defenses in the country. This game should be a slug fest, not an exciting back and forth.
I am picking Wisconsin

16Kansas State at Texas
Looks like Texas is back to being not back. They were doing well then they just dropped of the face of the college football world. They very nearly got beat by Kansas then they did get beat by TCU. The Longhorns had a bye last week and I doubt many people have even thought about them in two weeks. I think Texas will get this win because they need to. Kansas State (how are they ranked 16?) was able to hold on to beat Oklahoma two weeks ago, but I am worried they will come out a little cocky in this game. We all know Texas can score, so I think the key to them winning this game is to score a ton of points. A shootout favors the Longhorns.
I am picking Texas

Tennessee at Kentucky
This is a very interesting game. Tennessee is on a bit of a roll after a bad (dare I say “rocky”) start to the season. They have won their last two games against South Carolina (who upset UGA) and UAB (who only had one loss and is a pretty good team this season). Kentucky is still without a real QB, but they were able to take down a struggling Missouri last weekend. Tennessee seems to have found some fight and I think they will win this game. I expect it to be a close one and to be a sloppy one.
I am picking Tennessee

Liberty at BYU
Here we have another strange matchup. Both teams have done well this season. BYU has be really up and down, but they have a couple really good wins over USC and Boise State. They also have a couple not so great losses. Liberty likes to score. They haven’t played and tough teams this season and I think BYU will be a bit much for the Flames. I don’t really know how this game will play out, but if the BYU team that beat Boise State shows up, Liberty better watch out.
I am picking BYU

Western Kentucky at Arkansas
This will be senior day for a lot of Razorbacks. I really hope that their last game in DWRRS will be a good memory. It was announced on Monday that John Stephen Jones will be the starting QB and that KJ Jefferson will also play. I get the impression Nick Starkel and Ben Hicks will only see the feel in the even of injuries. The Hogs aren’t in a good place and they will have to face former Razorback QB Ty Storey this weekend. I’m glad this one will be over early in the day and won’t interfere with the Bama LSU game.
